Anonymous page counts

Anonymous page-view and performance statistics with Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights: how often pages are read and how fast they load. They use no cookies and store nothing in your browser, collect no personal data, and do not follow you across other sites. Page addresses are sent without anything after ? or #, and the pages for your account, sign-in, checkout and your films send nothing. They run until you choose Reject, which switches them off for you.

Statistics (only if you accept)

If you choose Accept, we keep a random number in your browser and link our own statistics to it: which link brought you here (for example a Pinterest pin or a story shown on a partner’s website), whether you played the free chapter, and whether you shared a story. Nothing else: no name, no email, no IP address, nothing about your children, and nothing from other sites. These records are kept for 13 months and then made anonymous for good. Until you accept, none of this happens; Reject, or untick Statistics later, and the number is deleted from your browser.

Marketing

None. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choice

The first time you visit we ask, with Accept and Reject side by side and nothing ticked in advance. You can change your choice at any time with Privacy & cookies at the bottom of every page. We keep a record of each choice (which text you saw, what you chose and when, with no personal data) to show which choice applied. Saying no never stops you from buying or watching.
